Blogging is still a thing! Get the conversation started by offering tips and tools and help your readers turn into leads. Blogging each week is a great way to building a following and increased potential clients.
This week we are talking about how to create content and communicate your brand message successfully each week. I have created a starter kit for entrepreneurs to post consistently on social media and be on brand week after week. Being consistent with your marketing and your messaging is where most new entrepreneurs struggle.
If you are new to entrepreneurship and just started your business, this is an exciting and easy component. This strategy will help you build a structure for your brand messaging and for social media. Having a Blog that speaks directly to your ideal client is a tremendous asset for anyone starting a business, especially for entrepreneurs that teach or provide expertise on a specific topic.
You can use your blog post in many ways. You can get the conversation started by offering tips and tools and help your readers turn into leads. Blogging each week is a great way to building a following and increased potential clients. You have to be intentional about your blog post, from when you post, how often you post, and what actions you want the readers to take.
It is important to have a specific call-to-action that supports your brand goals. Your blog should include engaging storytelling and end with a sense of urgency for the reader to take action right away. Having a weekly blog will help build content for your website that helps with SEO. SEO stands for search engine optimization. As you start producing your content and posting consistently, you will begin to see your message fall into a niche topic or industry-specific category that will allow your business to be searchable.
I have created a quick and easy-to-follow starter kit that will allow you to start new habits and routines that will ensure that you meet your goals for communicating consistently on social media each month.
The first thing you need to do is write your blog. Blog posts have not gone out of style. Take your time to write a clear on-brand message that helps your potential client get to know you and your brand. Your blog is not always about selling or promoting, it is more about telling a story.
Here are three tips for speaking directly to your ideal client in your blog post.
Through storytelling and being your natural and genuine self, you can write as if you are preparing to have a conversation with your client. Try not to overthink the content and what you want to write about, be sure you have a topic, a quote, and a resolution for your ideal client problem.
The first tip is identifying the problem. The problem is what your reader will connect and relate to. Especially if your title is catchy and they are struggling and can relate to the problem. You can do this by telling a story or sharing your personal experience. Another option is to start your blog by talking about the problem or situation. Be sure that you make it clear what the struggle is.
Then identify the pain points make it clear what the problem is that is causing the struggle. You can use this section of your blog to create a list or provide examples that will allow your reader to connect directly with your subject. The reader is more likely to keep reading when they can relate to the story you are sharing. Be creative and speak directly to them.
Last, be the solution you know how to help solve this problem. Be confident and briefly share your step-by-step solution and outline how you have provided relief for this problem. Try not to be too wordy and get to the point.
Now, let’s talk about how to use your weekly blog post as multiple social media posts.
Your blog post had three points the problem, the pain, and the solution.
You can use that same topic and parts from your article to identify specific highlights and share them on social media.
Here is the 3 Step Process.
Step 1 Upload your blog to your website. You can create a simple website, landing page, or even use LinkedIn articles for publishing your work. There are several blogging platforms that you can choose from if you do not have a personal website. Side note- If you need a simple website for your blog or business, do not hesitate to connect with me. Once you upload it you will have the URL that will directly send viewers to this blog post.
Step 2 is to design the image for your social media post. For this starter kit, we will use three sections from your blog posts as the minimum you but, you can break your single blog post into as many different social posts as you like. Depending on your message and what takeaways you want your readers to have, you may need more than three posts a week.
Bonus Tip* — Here’s how you can use one blog post to create three social posts.
*The first post can image of you or about your topic. Ask a question to engage the viewer. You can use a free stock image or snap a quick selfie to personalize your post. Using lifestyle photos is a great way to give your viewers a way to get to know you.
*The second post can be a combination of the two. Use text and images. Or, if you are feeling fancy, you can choose to make one of the three posts for the week a video. Video works extremely well on social media. If you are ready or not sure, I encourage you to challenge yourself and go live.
*The third design can be a text-focused post. Your blog most likely has a quote that can be pulled out and highlighted. Let’s keep it simple by using the text from the Quote to design your social image. This simple post will capture the interest, and your reader clicks and read more. You can also incorporate quotes that you said personally, or it could be a borrowed quote.
Step 3 is to schedule or share Social Media posts for the week. The third step in the process is posting to your social media accounts. I like to save time and use the scheduling tool to do all my scheduling at one time. Using a scheduling tool frees time from your day during the week, so you don’t have to stop what you’re doing to post on social media every day. Your scheduling tool will do that for you.
Don’t be afraid to start blogging and share your message. It’s important to remember that our stories are our stories, but they’re not for us. Your story is meant for other people to hear to learn and grow from. So don’t be afraid or discouraged by sharing your story.
Your business may or may not reflect your personal story. However, if you are the expert in that field, you can use your expertise and stories that have helped you to grow your audience. Write your blog, tell a story, educate, and train. Your blog post can give your readers a personal perspective on how-to-do something you love to do.
Sometimes I wish that I were a chef or an interior designer. These are things that people desire to learn and want to read about. Nine times out of ten most people want to make yummy food or create a cozy workspace.
Not so fun and exciting for me. It’s a little more difficult to get people out of their comfort zone and work on their mindset. But my storytelling and committing to the messaging your blog post and social media planning can speak directly to your potential ideal clients.
